Mandy and Jason’s wedding in downtown Indianapolis was at a very cool, unique venue. The Neidhammer was full of character and the perfect backdrop for this fun, energetic couple’s wedding. The Grand Hamilton Theater was full of exposed brick and massive windows that let in the most beautiful light. Downstairs, the Washington Room was perfect for their first look and cocktail hour.

I first met Mandy and Jason at their engagement session in the Irvington Park neighborhood. We had a great time getting to know one another, and laughed a lot! These two are jokesters and I loved their playfulness with each other. They have a fun story about how they met and eventually started dating that you can read over on their engagement session blog.

When I arrived at The Neidhammer on their wedding day, I met Mandy’s best friend Hannah and Mandy’s mom. They chose not to have a wedding party as they just wanted their friends to come and enjoy the day as guests, so it was quiet and relaxed as Mandy arrived to get ready for the first look. It was a hot summer day, so they decided to have their first look inside the venue. It was so sweet to see Jason’s reaction when he saw Mandy in her wedding dress. That’s always one of my favorite parts of the day to photograph. After the first look, we grabbed an Uber to head to the canal walk in downtown Indianapolis. It was busy, but we were able to grab some beautiful portraits along the canal before heading back for the ceremony.

Jason and Mandy had a friend officiate the ceremony. I love when couples are able to have someone do this that really knows them. He was funny, personal and did a great job! I think my favorite part of their day, though, was the dance. I don’t generally share a lot of photos from the reception on the blog. I usually tend to share more details, getting ready and bridal party. However, this was such a huge part of their day and the dance floor was full the entire time, so I’m sharing a lot of those photos here.

 

Mandy and Jason, I wish you the absolute best in your marriage! I loved being a part of your day and honored to have captured it.
