Some wedding days just come together perfectly, and Grace and Nick’s wedding at Pear Tree Estate in Champaign, Illinois was one of those days!
From the beautiful spring weather to the incredible details, meaningful moments, and the people who surrounded them, every part of the day felt intentional and full of joy. After photographing their Chicago engagement session, it was such a gift to celebrate alongside them as they officially became husband and wife.
One of the highlights of the day was photographing a ceremony in The Chapel at Pear Tree Estate for the very first time. The bright, beautiful space is absolutely stunning and provided the perfect setting for Grace and Nick to exchange their vows.
The Chapel quickly became one of my favorite locations on the property. Grace and Nick especially loved the space, so we made sure to incorporate it into many of their portraits throughout the day. The clean architecture, beautiful natural light, and timeless design created such an elegant backdrop for their wedding photos.
For couples searching for a wedding venue in Central Illinois, Pear Tree Estate truly offers an incredible variety of beautiful spaces all in one location. It’s truly one of my favorite venues!
I loved how Grace and Nick filled their wedding day with meaningful details that reflected their story! The reception tables featured photographs and keepsakes from their travels around the world. One of my favorite details was discovering that no two tables represented the same country. Guests could walk through the room and get a glimpse into the adventures that have shaped Grace and Nick’s relationship.
The floral arrangements were absolutely stunning, which came as no surprise. The talented florists behind the designs have been friends of ours for years, and I photographed Jenna’s wedding, so I knew the florals would be beautiful. Seeing Jenna and Evan again at Pear Tree Estate and grabbing a quick photo together was such a fun moment.
One of the most emotional moments of the day happened during the reception prayer. As a surprise for Grace’s family, a recording of her grandmother praying was played for everyone to hear. The room immediately grew quiet as her familiar voice filled the space. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room, including mine!
It was such a meaningful way to honor a loved one and create a moment that family members will remember forever. These are the kinds of moments that make weddings so much more than beautiful events. They become lasting memories woven into a family’s story!
Grace and Nick also added a unique personal touch to their cake cutting. Instead of using a traditional cake knife, they used Nick’s sword from West Point to cut into their wedding cake. It was such a special detail and one that perfectly reflected their story.
Anyone who has attended a wedding at Pear Tree Estate knows the food deserves its own section, truly! The meal was incredible, as always, and guests were treated to one more surprise afterward: an ice cream bar for dessert. It was the perfect addition to an already amazing reception and gave everyone a chance to relax, celebrate, and enjoy time together before dancing the night away.
Grace and Nick’s wedding was perfect from start to finish. From their heartfelt ceremony in The Chapel and the emotional tribute to Grace’s grandmother to the travel-inspired reception decor and sword cake cutting, every part of their day reflected who they are as a couple. And, of course, Pear Tree Estate provided the perfect setting for it all.
Grace and Nick, thank you for trusting me to document such an incredible day. It was an honor to celebrate alongside you and capture the beginning of this next chapter together!
