Basketball Senior Photo Session

Some senior sessions hit a little closer to home, and Blake’s senior basketball session is absolutely one of them!

Blake is my nephew, and getting to photograph this season of his life inside the Williamsville High School gym was incredibly special. This gym has seen countless early mornings, late nights, and big dreams. Capturing Blake there felt like the perfect way to celebrate his senior year and everything he’s poured into the game!

Blake was a starting point guard for Williamsville High School and a key player during one of the most successful seasons in school history. The 2024 to 2025 season was record-breaking, with the team finishing 31 and 4 (wow, right?), earning their first repeat sectional title, AND making an unforgettable run to the Class 2A state finals. This team played with heart, determination, and confidence, and Blake was in on the action.

We kept this session simple and meaningful by photographing him right on the court where so many of those memories were made. I love how the gym tells the story of years of dedication and love for the game. These are the kinds of senior photos that go beyond just a season… They represent commitment, growth, and the moments that helped shape who Blake is becoming.

This session also perfectly reflects the senior experience I offer! Senior photos are not about stiff poses or forcing something that does not feel natural. They are about celebrating your true self and the things that matter most to you right now. Whether that is sports, art, music, reading, academics, or something else, your session should tell your story.

Senior year is such an exciting season. It is full of pride, reflection, and looking ahead. For seniors, these photos should feel authentic and joyful. For parents and families, they become reminders of a chapter that passed by far too quickly. As both a photographer and an aunt, this session truly meant everything to me!

Now Blake is continuing his basketball journey at Illinois College, and I could not be more proud. Watching him grow from a high school athlete into a college player has been such a joy, and I am so thankful I was able to freeze this moment in time for him and for our family.

Blake’s senior basketball session is a reminder of why I love senior photography so much. These sessions are about honoring the work, the memories, and the dreams that come next. And sometimes, if you are lucky, you get to photograph someone you love along the way!
