St Juliana Catholic Church Wedding

Viri and Terry’s St Juliana Catholic Church wedding and reception at Belvedere Events was such a fun end to my summer wedding season. This sweet couple found me through a past couple of mine (and Terry’s cousin), Rory and Matt, who I photographed on a very, very hot day in Chicago in July of 2021. Because of that, I knew this was going to be a fun wedding day.

I started this wedding day at Viri’s house where she and the rest of the girls were getting ready. Meeting the bridesmaids is always a fun start to the day. I love getting to meet the people that are most important to my brides! Viri had all of her details ready for me, including a necklace that Terry had gifted her with their initials and wedding date on it.

Once Viri got into her beautiful, sparkly dress, we all headed to St Juliana for the ceremony. At the church, I got to meet some very lovely young ladies . . . the four adorable flower girls. These cuties made me smile all day, from dropping the petals so sweetly down the aisle to breaking it down on the dance floor later on. Watching Terry as Viri and her parents walked down the aisle was so sweet.

After the ceremony and family photos, we headed to Busse Woods for photos of the newlyweds and the wedding party. I had so much fun with all of the wedding party, and we laughed a lot, especially when one of the groomsmen . . . well, you’ll have to ask them what happened to his pants while he was trying to help toss Viri’s veil.

Belvedere Events in Elk Grove Village was the reception venue, which wasn’t far from Busse Woods. We arrived there in time for the couple and the wedding party to join cocktail hour. This is always a fun time for the couple to actually get to talk to their guests before the official events of the reception.

Perhaps my favorite part of this wedding day was the dancing! Viri and Terry did a couple of special dances that included standing on chairs, running around the dance floor, and throwing Terry up in the air. (see photos below) Between those dances and the guests on the dance floor, the reception was just so fun and entertaining.

Viri and Terry, I wish you all the best! Thank you for trusting me with your wedding day memories. I hope to see you in the future as you celebrate the years ahead.
