Hannah and Michael’s late summer Town and Country Events wedding was such a beautiful day that I’m going to remember for a long time. Everything about the day was beautiful, but what stood out to me most is the people that surrounded them on their wedding day. It’s clear this sweet couple loves their people and is loved by their people. I loved hearing stories throughout the day about how they met, started dating, and eventually ended up on this day vowing to love one another for a lifetime.
I first met Hannah when I photographed her senior photos a few years ago. It meant so much to me that she contacted me when she got engaged to Michael. I had fun getting to know them as a couple during their engagement session at Allerton Park.
On their wedding day, Hannah, the moms, and her bridesmaids all got ready in the spacious loft above Town & Country Events in Milford, Illinois. A small town venue with huge charm, Town & Country is a hidden gem that you wouldn’t expect to see in this small community. The owners are so creative and do most, if not all, of the construction work themselves and have renovated an old building into a stunning venue. Their getting ready space has so much natural light and beautiful touches to make it the perfect place for brides to feel comfortable and spread out during the beginning of the wedding day.
Hannah got into her dress shortly after I arrived with the help of her mom, and she looked stunning. I love this time of day on weddings when bride’s see themselves as a bride for the first time. I think this is the time when it really sinks in that this is really happening! Hannah did a little reveal for her bridesmaids, and then we did some photos of all of them in the venue before heading north to the church.
Hannah and Michael were married by Fr Dennis at St John the Baptist Catholic Church. Hannah’s dad and Fr Dennis are great friends, so having “Uncle Dennis” marry them was extra special. The ceremony was full of sweet moments, including a choir of friends of the couple that sang during the service. Hannah and Michael are both musically talented, and their friends being a part of the service was so sweet.
Following the service and photos, we headed back to Town & Country for the reception. Instead of cutting a cake, Hannah & Michael cut a pie that they had made together. After some speeches, a lovely dinner, and first dances, the dance floor opened up and stayed full the rest of the evening.
Hannah and Michael, it was such a joy to be a part of your day. Thank you for trusting me with your memories.
