Morgan and Chandler’s downtown Springfield wedding was the kind of day I could photograph over and over, not just because of how beautiful it was, but because of all of the amazing friends and family involved. It is so clear how amazing this couple is by how they are surrounded by the best people! They are a couple well loved for sure.
I first met Morgan and Chandler for their engagement session in downtown Nashville, Tennessee shortly after they moved there together. I love Nashville, so I jumped at the excuse to photograph an engagement session in one of my favorite cities. We had so much fun walking around the city getting to know each other and photographing at some iconic Nashville spots. Their session made me so excited for their wedding day, because I knew it was going to be a fun time.
On the wedding day last Saturday, I met up with Morgan and her girls at Morgan’s childhood home. All of the girls were pretty much completely ready, and they all looked amazing. Morgan got into her dress in her old bedroom with the help of her mom and younger sister. This is always such a sweet time of the day to photograph. Waiting downstairs were her bridesmaids, who couldn’t wait to see Morgan in her dress. As she walked down the open staircase the girls kept their eyes closed until the final moment. Their reactions were so sweet!
Arriving right on time, the party bus pulled up about that time with a very anxious groom ready to see his bride. I walked Chandler to the back yard to wait for Morgan, and as she walked toward him, he turned around and I think about fell to his knees as he saw Morgan for the first time on their wedding day. While he held it together pretty well, I am certain there were some tears in his eyes. After a few family photos there in the backyard, we headed downtown for wedding party photos.
Springfield is a fun place for photos with the capitol building and all of the neat buildings around town. We didn’t have a lot of time, but worked quickly to take some photos that showed off some of the city before heading to the church for the ceremony.
After a beautiful, sweet, meaningful ceremony, Chandler and Morgan were officially husband and wife! We headed to Washington Park to finish up photos before heading to the Crowne Plaza for the reception . . . party time!
The reception started with the grand entrances by the wedding party and the announcement of the newlyweds, followed by the cake cutting. Shortly after that, I whisked them away for some golden hour photos on the rooftop before heading back down for dinner and dancing. Morgan did a sweet first dance with her mom, and Chandler did a fun polka dance with his mom to “Roll Out the Barrel”. The dance floor opened up and the party continued with glow sticks, great music by the DJ and a fun dance with the bride and the neighbor girls.
Chandler and Morgan, I wish you all the best in your marriage. It was such a joy to be a part of your day.
