Maggie and Alex’s Geneva National Resort wedding was simply beautiful! Their classic black and white theme was both timeless and elegant, filled with so many stunning details and SO MUCH JOY! I’m so excited to share it on the blog today.
Geneva National was such a beautiful backdrop for Maggie and Alex’s wedding day. Both of them got ready onsite, which makes the wedding day so much easier for everyone. I started the day with Maggie in a room off the clubhouse to photograph her details and all of the girls getting ready. While the anticipation in the room was high, everyone was so sweet and fun to work with. Maggie had the most beautiful black and white details, but the show stopper was definitely her shoes! How great are they?! During this part of the day, Maggie gifted her mom a matching pinky ring, as well as gifting her sisters a special gift made out of her mom’s wedding dress. I just loved watching Maggie with her mom and sisters all day. They were all so sweet and helpful, and clearly overjoyed for Maggie!
Maggie and Alex chose to do a first look and most of the photos before the wedding ceremony. While we weren’t able to go out on the golf course for photos, the Pavilion Lawn where the ceremony took place was a great spot to get some group photos with the beautiful Geneva National behind them. It was a beautiful summer day with sunny skies and a slight breeze, which made our portrait time perfect.
The ceremony was beautiful with the golf course and lake behind. As Maggie and her dad walked down the aisle, everyone was wiping tears from their eyes. Maggie looked stunning! My favorite part of the ceremony was when everyone raised their hands to pray for the new couple.
During cocktail hour, I took Maggie and Alex out for a few more photos before the reception. Maggie’s veil was perfect for flowing in the light breeze, so you know we had to take advantage of that. After a few photos, the newlyweds joined cocktail hour so they could visit with their family and friends.
As we all moved inside for the reception, we were greeted by more beautiful details in the foyer and reception space. The Grand Ballroom had floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the course and lake, which bathed the room in beautiful, soft light. After toasts and the couples’ first dance, Maggie danced with her dad, which is always one of my favorite wedding day moments. But, you have to check out what happened during Alex’s dance with his mom! A choreographed mother-son dance? YES! What a blast!!
Maggie and Alex, it was pure joy to be a part of your wedding day! I wish you all the best in your marriage and life.
