Christianna and Drake’s Haley Mansion Wedding in Joliet, Illinois may have been a year later than they had hoped, but it turned out to be such a beautiful celebration of their love. It was a cold March day with just a hint of snow left on the ground, which made the Haley Mansion look extra magical.

When I arrived at the bridal suite at Harrah’s on the wedding day, Christianna was just about finished with hair and makeup. All of her bridesmaids were so sweet, relaxed and helpful. Christianna’s mom helped her into her stunning gown, and we did a little first look with her dad. I could tell that their relationship is a special one, because they immediately started joking and talking in inside jokes I didn’t quite understand. So sweet! We headed down by the river for the first look with Christianna and Drake. She had told me that Drake wasn’t super emotional and that she’d never seen him cry. Well, I can confirm that I saw at least a couple of tears in his eyes and they were not because it was 20 degrees outside.

Following the first look, we headed to the Haley Mansion for more photos. We had to be super fast because it was frigid. The wedding party was so amazing, even though they were clearly very cold. Suffering a few minutes of cold weather for the bride and groom to have the photos they dreamed of was amazing.

Their ceremony followed in the beautiful ballroom in the back of the venue, filled with gorgeous natural light and floor to ceiling windows. I’m pretty sure their were a few more tears from Drake and his soon-to-be wife walked down the aisle with her dad. After saying their vows and exchanging rings, the couple shared their first kiss as husband and wife and then celebrated down the aisle together. I always love this part of the day as it becomes a reality that they are now husband and wife!

Following the ceremony was a delicious meal and a fun, animated, energetic reception. The DJ kept the dance floor full the entire night, and the couples’ guests were full of moves! I especially enjoyed the dollar dance, which was not your typical dollar dance. You can see a few of those photos towards the end of the post.
