Lincolnshire Wedding at Loft 21 Events

Alyssa & Rick had the most beautiful spring day for their Lincolnshire wedding at Loft 21 Events. I first met this couple for their engagement session in downtown Grayslake right before Covid changed the world and wedding industry. I’m so glad we got their engagement session in before that happened. While we had a frigid day for their session, it was so fun walking around their suburb getting to know them.

I met up with Alyssa and her bridesmaids and bridesmates at the Courtyard by Marriott just down the road from Loft 21. Everyone was relaxed and having a good time hanging out and calming Alyssa’s nerves. I always love starting the day photographing some details that the couple chose to make their day special. Once Alyssa was finished with hair and makeup, we moved from the getting ready space up to her room where she got into her gorgeous dress with the help of her mom, sister and stepmom.

Alyssa & Rick chose to do a first look and complete all of their photos prior to the ceremony. We headed over to Loft 21 where we had access to a trail behind the venue that runs along the river. Their first look was so sweet, even though the trail was somewhat busy with bikers. Everyone said their congratulations to the couple and commented on how beautiful the bride was in her dress. The wedding party was so easy and fun to work with and I think they were very appreciative of the fact that once the ceremony was over, they didn’t have to do any more pictures. I did sneak the newlyweds out for some golden hour photos, which always end up being favorites from the day.

Because the couple loves basketball and it was March Madness time, they had large screens playing the tournament games in their reception space. They also chose to name their tables after the college teams, so people found their seats by finding out which team they were on for the night. I love when couples add meaningful, personal touches to their wedding day!
