Spring Central Illinois Engagement Session

Milford, Illinois

After weeks of rainy weather and more reschedules than we could count, Kiah and CJ’s engagement session finally came together on the most beautiful evening in Central Illinois. Their engagement photos took place on CJ’s family property in rural Milford – a photographer’s dream!

Kiah and CJ are high school sweethearts, and spending the evening with them made it so easy to see the love they share. These two are busy and driven! Kiah is currently in nursing school and working at Carle Hospital. CJ works in computer programming and loves spending time on the golf course whenever he can. Between busy schedules, wedding planning, and one of the rainiest springs we’ve had in a long time, we chased a moving target for a little while as we tried to get this session on the calendar!

We ended up rescheduling their engagement photos several times because of the weather… But this session was the perfect reminder that sometimes waiting for the right evening is absolutely worth it. We were gifted the dreamiest night out in the country with beautiful weather and the best kind of spring sunset. While wedding days always call for flexibility and embracing whatever weather comes our way, engagement sessions allow a little more freedom to wait for better weather. I’m always happy to do that whenever we can!

One of my favorite parts of this session was getting to explore the property alongside Kiah and CJ. This session was just so easy and joyful, and it makes me so excited for their wedding day later this year. I already know Kiah and CJ’s fall wedding at The Barn at Double K Ranch is going to be beautiful!

Kiah and CJ, thank you for inviting me into this season and trusting me with these memories. I cannot wait to celebrate you two again so soon!
