I first met Leslie and True a few years ago when I had the joy of photographing their sweet family at their home near Loda, Illinois. From the moment we met, I could tell how full of love, laughter, and genuine warmth they are. Photographing families like theirs is always such a gift. So, when Leslie reached out about photographing their upcoming wedding day, I was so excited to reconnect!

For their engagement session, we headed out to some family property in the country. And it couldn’t have been more perfect, trust me! There was a beautiful pond that reflected the golden hour light, tall trees that framed the space just right, and the sweetest country landscape all around. Leslie and True were total naturals in front of the camera. Their easygoing personalities made everything feel effortless and fun. It was just the perfect evening in Central Illinois! 

One of my favorite parts of the session was just watching how they interact with each other. Their love, laughter, and connection show in their photos. There’s a kind of calm, genuine joy in the way they are together that makes photographing them feel like the easiest and happiest job in the world.

Looking back on these engagement photos makes me even more excited for their wedding day this spring at Deer Ridge Barn. I can already imagine the laughter, happy tears, and all the little moments that will make their wedding day so special. Capturing these moments now gives me a sneak peek of the love story we’ll continue to tell on their wedding day. I can’t wait to see what this next chapter brings!
