Lincoln Park & North Avenue Beach Engagement

Kaitlin and Cole’s engagement session in Chicago was one of those days that reminded me why I love photographing couples so much. These two are fun, easygoing, and genuinely such a joy to be around. From the moment we met, I knew our time together was going to be special!

These two first met at Cole’s apartment during a small gathering with friends. Not long after, their first official date took them to a Chicago Blackhawks game. Fast forward to their engagement, and Cole surprised Kaitlin on the beach in Sanibel, Florida. It was the perfect mix of sentimental and spontaneous, which feels so fitting for the two of them.

Cole has also spent a lot of time in the wedding world through his uncle’s catering business, so it was fun to talk through their plans and hear about their experience from a behind the scenes perspective. Now that they live and work in Chicago, it only made sense to choose classic city locations for their engagement session.

The only challenge on the day of their engagement session was the wind. Hello Chicago! We spent the evening getting creative, shifting locations, and pausing whenever the gusts picked up too much. Honestly, it made the session even more memorable! Kaitlin and Cole were so patient and flexible. They laughed through it all and trusted the process, which always leads to the absolute best photos!

Lincoln Park and North Avenue Beach came through beautifully for us. Both spots are favorites of mine because they never disappoint. Between the skyline views, the lake, and the sunset light, we captured so many images that feel true to who Kaitlin and Cole are together.

Kaitlin and Cole, I loved spending this windy city night with you! Thank you for welcoming me into your story. It was a joy to photograph your engagement session, and I am already so excited for your wedding at Brix on the Fox next summer. It is going to be amazing!
