Fall Cantigny Park Engagement Photos

When I think back on Mckenna and Justin’s engagement session, the word that comes to mind is sweet. These two share such a gentle, selfless kind of love. The kind where you can just tell they’re always cheering each other on!

We originally planned for their session to take place along the Chicago lakefront, but the wind had other plans! Instead of fighting it, we made a quick change and headed to one of my favorite spots… The always beautiful Cantigny Park in Wheaton. It ended up being the most gorgeous fall evening, and honestly, I can’t imagine a more perfect backdrop for these two.

Mckenna and Justin are the kind of couple that makes you feel calm and happy just being around them. They’re a little quiet, but have such a fun, easy-going playfulness that comes out when they’re together. You can see it in the way they make each other laugh, or how Justin always seems to know exactly how to make Mckenna smile.

Their story started at Wheaton College, where they were both undergrads. During Justin’s senior year, they happened to be taking a class together but didn’t know each other yet. A few months later, Justin went to a concert in Louisville, Kentucky, and through a small-world connection, he met someone who happened to be friends with Mckenna. After the concert, he reached out to her to say hello, and that one message turned into a friendship that eventually became so much more.

From the moment we started their session until sunset, everything about this evening felt peaceful and joyful. The fall colors, the breeze, and the laughter between these two made it one of those sessions that you just don’t want to end.

I absolutely loved my time with Mckenna and Justin and can’t wait to celebrate their wedding day next year!
