Kankakee Country Club Wedding

Kankakee, Illinois

Keegan and Andrew’s Kankakee Country Club wedding was another gorgeous summer day in Central Illinois. All of these June couples have sure been lucky with perfect wedding day weather.

Keegan and her bridesmaids got ready at her house, and when I arrived they were just finishing up with hair and makeup. I got to work on photographing Keegan’s details and then she slipped into her dress with the help of her sweet mom. Keegan’s bridesmaids got a special first look with her, and their reactions were so sweet.

Once everyone was ready, we headed to the country club for the first look with the couple. We decided to use one of the bridges at the golf course for their first look, which ended up being some of my favorite photos of the day. Keegan had told me previously that Andrew was not outwardly emotional, but I’m pretty sure that I saw some tears in his eyes as he saw Keegan as a bride for the first time. We did a few more portraits on the golf course before heading back to the clubhouse for photos of the wedding party.

I have to confess that the ring bearer and flower girl stole the show for much of this wedding. They were the cutest, and I have way too many photos of them because I couldn’t help myself. The wedding party was so fun to work with, and it’s easy to tell that this couple is so loved by their friends and family.

Keegan and Andrew’s ceremony was held outside at the Kankakee Country Club along the river. The golf course was a beautiful backdrop as they became husband and wife. Following the ceremony, I had the privilege of meeting their extended family for some portraits before heading back out to the golf course with the newlyweds for photos. At one point during photos, they just about got hit with a golf ball that came whizzing by just above their heads and landed in the river. I can assure you that we were far enough away from the fairway that we should have been safe, but you just never know. We had a good laugh about it and were very thankful everyone was safe.

The reception at the country club was filled with sweet speeches, emotional first dances, and a special tribute to Keegan’s grandparents who’ve been married for almost 70 years.

Keegan and Andrew, it was such an honor to be a part of your day. I wish you all the best in life and a long, happy marriage.
