Lake Vermilion, Danville Wedding Photography

Megan and Jaren had quite the time planning their wedding, but they ended up with the most beautiful fall day. They began with a wedding at the church where Megan’s grandparents were married and ended their evening along Lake Vermilion.

When I met up with Megan on the morning of her wedding, she and the rest of the girls were just finishing up with hair and makeup. Megan is the third and final girl in her family to get married, and they’ve all gotten married within the last 2 years! How crazy is that?! It was so fun to see them all interact with each other and to see Megan’s older sisters care for her on her big day, and I think Megan’s dad was extra emotional that his last girl was getting married.

The ceremony was held at the same church where Megan’s grandparents, parents and sisters all got married. What a special place that church holds for their family! Megan & Jaren had not seen each other before the ceremony and Jaren’s reaction to his bride walking down the aisle was so sweet. I think everyone in the room had tears in their eyes.

Following the ceremony and family picture time, we headed outside for some wedding party photos. Our first location was full of swarming “no see ums” as we call them here in the midwest. Those tiny biting bugs were attacking Megan and the bridesmaids, so we quickly made the decision to head to the lake and hope for less bugs there.

We were so blessed by what we found at the lake. The fall colors were in full display, the weather was perfect and the bugs were few. I’m always happy to find water for photos, so this turned out to be a great spot for the rest of their portrait time. Once photos were complete, we all headed inside for the reception. If you know Megan, you know her family sells the best sweet corn in central Illinois, so everyone was excited to see that in the buffet line. It was just another special touch that made the day so great.
