Steve and Rachel were married at their Yorkville outdoor wedding on the most beautiful fall day on her grandma’s farm. Surrounded by their family and friends at such a meaningful place was just perfect. While outdoor weddings have been quite popular this year due to Covid-19, Rachel and Steve had planned to have their wedding there from the beginning of their planning days.
I met up with Rachel and her girls at a nearby hotel where the girls were all getting ready. Rachel had a large wedding party, but everyone was so calm and kind. I’m always amazed how many girls can get ready in one space on wedding days, but they all made it work. They even squeezed in a little impromtu pre-wedding dance party in the room.
Steve and Rachel decided to do a first look, so we put Steve out by the willow trees to wait for his bride. Rachel looks absolutely stunning in her gown and cathedral length veil. I loved watching Steve turn around and see her for the first time as his bride.
Following the first look we started on wedding party photos. After taking a few shots, one of the bridesmaids realized we were missing two bridesmaids! Oops! 🙂 Once we got everyone together, we finished up photos with the wedding party just in time for them to tuck away before guests starting arriving for the ceremony.
Guests starting arrive and sat on the benches made out of straw bales which was a very cute touch for their farm wedding. The ceremony was full of emotion and sweet tears as everyone watched Steve and Rachel become husband and wife.
The reception kicked off with the usual fun introduction of the wedding party and the newlyweds. Rachel’s dad then said a few kind words, leaving the couple in tears and laughter. After the rest of the speeches and a thank you and welcome from the bride and groom, everyone was treated to a fabulous dinner.
I finished up my time with the sweetest first dances and a few minutes of open dance floor. I’m sure that dance floor was busy the rest of the night.
