Kalon and Ellen’s original plans to go to Florida for their engagement sessions were derailed by travel restrictions, so they reached out to me to see if I could help them plan a Chicago lakefront engagement session. I am sad for them that their original plans had to be changed, but so thankful that they chose me to photograph their Chicago session.
We met up at the Field Museum just off of Lakeshore Drive on the museum campus. This building makes such a great backdrop for photos and is surrounded by great landscaping. The area is much less populated right now, so it made it so much easier than normal to use this amazing location.
Once we had plenty of beautiful photos around the museum, we walked down to the lakefront walking trail which runs right along the lake with the amazing city skyline in the background. This was a perfect location for them, because it is where Kalon proposed to Ellen. I love the variety in this location with the stairs, the skyline and then just blue sky and the lake when you turn around. This area was definitely more populated, but still totally manageable for great photos.
Once we finished up by the lake, we headed back up toward the museum campus where we not only got some sweet, romantic photos, but also some really fun photos of them just being them. I love when couples have fun during their session, so these last few photos are some of my favorite!
