Peoria Engagement Session at Donovan Park | Abbie & Alex

Alex and Abbie’s Peoria engagement session at the beautiful Donovan Park was the best way to get to know this sweet, adorable couple. From the first time we talked over Zoom, I knew that we were going to be such a good fit. I was so glad that we had such amazing weather for their engagement photos.

We originally had planned to have their session at Morton Arboretum. However, due to coronavirus shut downs, that location wasn’t open yet for photo sessions. Our next location idea didn’t pan out because of an early sunflower session that ended just before their session date. We decided to meet up at Donovan Park in Peoria since they live nearby. I guess it’s true when they said “third time’s a charm”, because this location was just perfect! From the tall grasses to the gorgeous weeping willows to the amazing golden hour light, we couldn’t have asked for a better spot for their Peoria engagement session.

While walking around the park photographing these cuties, I learned all about Alex and Abbie. They were talking about the good that has come out of the pandemic shut downs. Abbie is in school for physical therapy, which normally would have meant that the couple would be doing long distance during this time. Since shut downs meant that Abbie’s classes were online, they ended up getting to stay together in Peoria after spring break. This has given them plenty of time to plan for their wedding and dream about their future together.

Abbie & Alex are getting married at the Tea Room in Des Moines, Iowa, Abbie’s hometown. I can’t wait to be there to capture their special day.
