Megan and Jaren had the perfect golden light for their Allerton Park summer engagement session. The expansive gardens, mansion and grounds at Allerton are the perfect backdrop for photos, so when they mentioned wanting their session there, I was all for it.
How Did You Meet?
“We met a few times through a mutual friend in 2015. The final time was at the softball park in Hoopeston where his sister was playing against my cousin. He saw me there and when he described me to his sister, he referred to me as “the girl with the really good winged eyeliner.” We started talking, found out that we had a lot in common and started dating a couple months later.”
Where Did You Go On Your First Date?
“Our first date was at Old Settlers in Cissna Park. We rode carnival rides and ate way too much junk food.
How Did He Propose?
“Jaren proposed in the middle of a show ring at the Vermilion County Fair. It was my last time showing livestock as a 4-H’er and he knew that it was a big chapter in my life that I was sad to close. After the swine show was finished, he called me over and led me out into the ring and said “We were talking earlier this morning and you said that you were really sad about today because a huge chapter of your life is ending, and I thought, ‘What better way to end a big chapter than to start another one in your favorite place in the world?'” He got down on one knee in front of our families, friends and fair family and asked me to marry him. It was perfect!”
Okay, isn’t that the SWEETEST?!
