I started a little series last week on thankfulness. It’s something I don’t practice enough, and I’m sure some of you are like me in that way. The first post was to my parents as they celebrated 50 years of marriage.
Today’s post is to my hubby. We just celebrated 15 years of marriage this past June. You can find a little letter to him here. We didn’t go on a fancy trip or even out for dinner on our anniversary. What we did instead was schedule an anniversary shoot with one of our favorite photographers, Rebekah Albaugh. All of the recent photos in this post are from that session. I’ll write a post soon about why everyone, including photographers, should hire a professional photographer once in a while.
Now, on to my thankfulness for my husband. It’s a crazy thing that we take for granted the people that are most important to us. Adam and I met at a bar when his band was playing. A few friends and I would travel around our local area to watch Lanternz Road play most weekends. I guess you’d say we were groupies. 🙂 I never really paid much attention to the sunglass-wearing, cigarette-smoking guy playing bass in the corner, but apparently he had been checking out my fancy moves on the dance floor. After a few weeks, we were introduced by a mutual friend. We started chatting, found out we attended the same junior college and that our moms knew each other pretty well.
Here’s a picture of us not long after we met. See those crazy sunglasses? He had them in red, blue and yellow.
The thing about Adam that stuck out to me most is that he wasn’t shocked when he found out I had a baby girl. He had never really been around little kids before, but he immediately fell in love with Lexee and I with him. I’m so thankful that God sent him to be the father of Lexee. She called him “Daddy” before she called me “Mommy”. Whatever kid! 🙂
A few things I’m most thankful for when it comes to my husband:
Here are a few of our pictures from our photo shoot. It was a good reminder that we do have fun together and need to have dates more often! 🙂
So sweet! And I love seeing the photos from your life over the years!
