Amanda and Terry were married on the beautiful University of Illinois campus. When I showed up to second shoot this wedding with Melanie Anderson Photography, the clouds were moving in. Thankfully, the weather held off at least long enough to get pictures before the ceremony. The church had a gorgeous room for Amanda and her bridesmaids to get ready! I just loved those big windows. Amanda is a crafty girl and took care of a lot of the details for her wedding, from the cuff links to a bracelet she made for her mom. I love when couples have some DIY touches to their wedding day. It just makes it that much more personal.

Following the ceremony there was a torrential downpour. You’ll see in the picture below that the groomsmen were very protective of Amanda and got her to the limo almost completely dry. Great job guys! The rest of us were soaking wet and laughing, because what else can you do, right? As we drove to the iHotel for the reception, we drove through flooded streets and around fallen trees. The reception was beautiful. I just love the iHotel.
