Dan & Katie were the lucky recipients of a complimentary engagement session a while back, and I couldn’t have asked for a sweeter couple! Once we found a time that worked with Dan’s schedule, we decided to meet up at the beautiful Allerton Park in Monticello, Illinois.
Dan and Katie were introduced to each other through a mutual friend back when Katie was just 15 years old. Katie was in a production of the Sound of Music and Dan was a drummer in the pit. They started dating shortly after, and have been inseparable ever since. These two are huge Chicago sports fans, so when Dan finally got up the courage to propose to Katie, he took her on a trip to Chicago. Dan told Katie they were going up to see the Christmas lights and visit with a friend. He ended up taking her to Wrigley Field to see the marquee just a month after the Cubs won the World Series, where Dan got down on one knee and proposed. Katie says “I was actually too excited to answer right away . . . after giggling a few minutes (and asking him if it were real), I said yes!”
Dan and Katie will be getting married on December 1 of 2018 and they couldn’t be more excited!
When I met up with this cute couple at Allerton, they were wearing Blackhawks jerseys. After having some fun with those and getting to know them a bit better, they changed clothes and we walked around the park looking for the perfect spots to take advantage of the gorgeous fall colors that finally popped out here in Central Illinois. I loved hearing all about Katie’s job working with preschool kids and Dan’s work as a paramedic and with the fire department.
Dan and Katie, I had a blast with you guys! I hope you enjoy your photos and that your wedding day is everything you’ve dreamed of, but mostly I pray for your marriage and that it flourishes and blesses others!
