I’ve been anticipating this session for years . . . truly! Madelyn’s mom has been a strong supporter of my business from the very beginning, and we have talked about Maddie’s senior pictures literally since I started photographing them. It used to feel so far away that we would both have high school seniors!! I first met her as that cute little red-headed toddler in the church nursery and now she’s all grown up! (insert sobbing face emoji, haha) Maddie also modeled for me a couple of winters ago in a Disney’s Merida-inspired shoot and again as a junior model during Senior Week last spring.

Maddie is one of a kind! I love her sweet, quiet, slightly awkward personality, and I wanted to capture that in her session. And then she shows up looking like a princess (Merida, yes?) in a stunning dress and high heels! Now, if you know Maddie, you know that you will typically find her in jeans and cowboy boots. But let me tell you right now, there’s an elegant side to this girl, too! I think we captured her personality and style to a T!

A few things about Maddie you should know:

She is the color guard captain of the award-winning WCHS Marching Band.

She is in pep band, concert band, and choir.

She is the show choir crew manager. (Go Watseka Sensations!)

She loves taking pictures, drawing and spending time with her boyfriend and dogs.

She loves that her friends are always there to encourage and listen to her. Her family pushes her to be the best she can be spiritually and in every other aspect of her life. “We laugh a LOT!”

She volunteers in the children’s ministry and is a student leader in the high school ministry at her church and says that Refuge (high school ministry) is a huge part of her life.

Maddie plans to attend the local junior college next year to study art and photography.

One thing Maddie forgot to mention is that she is a snow-lover just like me! I’m hoping for a lot of snow this winter so we can go out again for more pictures!

Maddie, congrats on your senior year! We love you and are proud of the kind-hearted, generous young lady you have become.
